BumpWise Privacy Policy

• Label images are read on your device. Barcode lookup sends the product barcode to Open Food Facts to retrieve product information; it does not send the label photo or your pregnancy profile.
• Ask Anything requests your permission before sending your question, recent conversation of up to 20 turns, and selected role, mode, lifecycle phase, pregnancy week or trimester, and focus through our backend to the AI provider named in your permission (Anthropic in current versions of the app, OpenAI in earlier versions), a third-party AI provider, to generate an answer.
• Profile names, exact dates, and diary entries are not automatically added to Ask context. Anything you type in a question or conversation can still be sent, including personal or health information. Ask content is used for the response and is not saved as a conversation in our backend; service logs, allowance records, and entitlement checks are separate.
• Profile, scan history, diary, favorites, and library preferences are stored locally. Optional partner sharing sends only categories you choose to our household service; sharing categories are off by default. A shared check-in tag and lifecycle phase can be sent to Anthropic to generate a partner care tip, or to OpenAI if check-in sharing was turned on in an earlier version of the app and has not been turned off and on again since. Generated care tips and delivery records are stored on our servers for the household.
• Partner care uses separate household membership and category permissions. Withdrawing Ask permission does not revoke partner sharing. Change sharing categories, unlink, or delete household data with the partner controls.
• The device identifier and Apple transaction information support entitlement checks, purchase restore, request limits, and the optional two-person Pro household. If you enable partner notifications, an Apple push token and notification preferences support delivery.

Delete all local data in Settings clears local profile, mode, diary, saved scans and answers, favorites, and related preferences. Deleting the app removes its local container. Neither action cancels Apple purchases or deletes information already sent to a provider, exports, or copies saved elsewhere. Withdraw AI permission in Settings cancels pending Ask questions and prevents new requests, but cannot undo information already sent. Partner controls revoke sharing categories, unlink devices, or request deletion of shared household server records; contact support for access or deletion requests concerning per-device server data. Care events no longer awaiting delivery are scheduled for cleanup after 90 days; queued delivery and cleanup failures can keep them longer. This is not an expiry rule for every server record. We do not promise a fixed provider retention period or deletion from every provider.
