How do I extend an AI video and make it longer?
Ask for a longer duration, up to the 120-second ceiling on one generation, and Bonega builds it as a chain: any video over 15 seconds is generated as several segments of at most 15 seconds each, every segment after the first is animated from the LAST FRAME of the one before it, and all of them are merged into one MP4. A 40-second video is generated as 15 + 15 + 10 seconds. To go past 120 seconds, extend a finished video — that appends up to another 120 seconds each time, and nothing caps the total. You can also upload a video you already have: Bonega extracts its final frame, keeps your footage as the opening segment, and continues from there.
Extending a video you already have
Upload the clip on the generation screen instead of an image. Accepted containers are MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI and MKV, up to 64 MB. Your original file becomes the first segment of the result — it is not re-generated, so nothing about it changes — and the continuation is generated from its last frame.
Because the continuation starts from a real frame of your footage, the join is only as good as the frame you stop on. Ending on a stable frame, with the subject fully in shot and the camera not mid-pan, is the single biggest thing you control.
What an extension costs
Extending costs exactly what generating costs: 4.125 credits per second of new video, rounded up. Adding 20 seconds to an existing clip costs 83 credits. The seconds you already have are never re-billed.
Which plans include it
- Standard, $9/month — extended mode included, 200 credits per month (48 seconds of video).
- Pro, $49/month — extended mode included, 1500 credits per month (6 min 3 s of video).
- 3-day trial — 63 credits on Standard, card required, no charge until the trial ends.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does extending a video re-generate the part I already have?
No. When you upload a video, that file is kept as the opening segment and only the new seconds are generated and billed, at 4.125 credits per second.
How long can a single generated segment be?
15 seconds. Longer requests are split automatically — a 40-second video is generated as 15 + 15 + 10 seconds and merged into one file.
